Article One: Introduction
Section 1
As ordained by this constitution, this organization shall be established under the name “Bruin Amateur Radio Club” hereafter referred to by the full name or by its call sign, W6YRA.
Section 2
The financial records of this organization shall be made available to the administration of the University of California, Los Angeles upon request.
Section 3
Bruin Amateur Radio Club does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, handicap, or age in any of its policies, procedures and practices.
Section 4
For the purposes of this constitution, a registered member is defined as someone who has been offered and has accepted a position with the organization and is held on the official roster, and has done so for a period of 3 months.
Article Two: Purpose
It shall be the purpose to further the exchange of information and cooperation between members, to promote radio knowledge and individual operating efficiency, and to conduct club programs and activities as to advance the general interest and welfare of Amateur Radio in the community.
Article Three: Voting and Officers
Section 1
The only officer of the club is the President. The outgoing president appoints the president.
The president as of 18 January 2012 is Ryan Caron.
The president as of 21 May 2014 is Kyle Colton.
Section 2
The president can be removed from office by popular vote after at least 3 months in office by two-thirds majority of the entire assembled roster of registered members.
Article Four: Amendment Process
Any registered member of Bruin Amateur Radio Club can propose a constitutional amendment. The amendment will be passed by 2/3 majority of the registered members, and the president’s signature.
